Ideally, the battery should make instantaneous, solid contact with its terminals, but in some cases, this is not so easy to do. Some units are a bit fussy about how cleanly power is restored. The bracket for the display is big enough even for the large handles on the spinner. The sensor is mounted so the tip points toward the wheel, instead of the flat side, kinda hard to explain. Having a metal flywheel, I just put the magnet facing in (which normally would face out, and then mounted the sensor, with double stick tape) to the front of the chain guard as closely as possible to the screw sticking out (I will try to add pictures, if I figure out how). You will not be disappointed by this cycle computer The one I am purchasing now is a replacement, the previous one having given up the ghost today with the failure of the "mode" button but its sheer longevity, reliabilty and robustness means that I am more than happy to purchase it as a replacement and recommend it to others. The "dual wheel" function that allows you to switch between bikes makes this a very vesatile cycle computer. Gloved fingers aside (as noted by another reviewer) the Enduro 8 has the most tactile buttons leading to no uncertainty that a button has been pressed or that a function has been skipped because the button "bounced" (the Trek was bad for this). It has also been one of the easiest cycle computers to use too. In contrast I have owned an Enduro 8 since about 2002 and it has offed faultless performance between road and mountain biking. I have previously owned Specialized (lasted a year) and Trek (lasted a day) cycle computers.
